Project Description

Data Platform Architecture and POC – Consumer Data Right and Open Banking

Project Description:

Our client is Australia’s largest credit union providing financial and insurance products to over 500,000 members. They established an Open Banking program to respond to their requirements under Australian Consumer Data Right (CDR) legislation. This project was initiated to deliver the technology solution that would establish data interfaces to other CDR participants through the client’s strategic cloud data platform. The high-level Open Banking solution required validation through a proof of concept while a full solution architecture was delivered in parallel.

What We Did

  • Architected foundational components of the cloud data platform including stream and batch processing, data lake, and operational data store
  • Developed, socialised and gained program endorsement for solution overview and detailed solution architecture
  • Identified, analysed and resolved key technical challenges for the data streaming solution
  • Worked closely with client’s cloud infrastructure partner to ensure Open Banking solution was secure and supported
  • Coordinated business, technology and client vendor stakeholders to plan and execute prototype
  • Documented prototype findings and results, and provided recommendations to inform full implementation

Outcomes delivered

  • Facilitated contracts with client technology partners and established prototype environments
  • Prototype demonstrated successful near-real time replication of data from core banking systems to cloud infrastructure
  • Prototype infrastructure fully aligned with proposed solution architecture providing confidence in solution capabilities
  • Highlighted and successfully navigated contention on key technical and technology resources within client and their partners
  • Successfully delivered prototype and solution architecture within agreed timeframes
